HS2 Property Route
HS2 (High Speed Two) is a new railway line between London and West Midlands carrying 400m-length (1,300ft) trains with as many as 1,100 seats per train. It will be the fastest railway line, operating at 250mph and would run as often as 15 times per hour in each direction.
The Department of Transport said, there will be almost 15,000 seats an hour on trains between London and the cities of Birmingham to Manchester and Leeds.
There are many benefits to HS2, it’s connected to 8 of 10 of Britain’s largest cities, it’s an investment in Britain’s future, create 30,000 jobs and will help the economy grow.
However the biggest disadvantage is the affect it’s having on the property market. More specifically how the route is affecting properties.
- Properties within 500m of HS2 line are likely to have the value of their home harmed.
- Disruptions will be caused by building works and there is uncertainty of the effect on noise pollution and traffic levels in the local area.
- Depending on how close your property
