Green Green Grass of Home
The UK has been in a housing crisis… Especially London, 526,000 new homes must be built in London between 2011 and 2021 just to keep up with the current housing demand.
There are many Green Belt designated zones around major towns, cities and settlements, these are here to avoid any urban sprawl. However, this doesn’t mean that it’s impossible to build on Green Belt, in certain circumstances any type of development could be approved on this land.
As many local councillors and therefore planning departments come under increasing pressures from Central Government to find a solution to this housing demand, there is a growing fear that our green belt land banks will diminish in size.
This is great news for those desperately seeking a new home, but potentially disastrous for those who have already realised their dream of living near some much sought after countryside, especially if after moving they quickly find themselves living on the edge of a new garden village!
CDS has access to a variety of search products which report on a range of circumstances, from a basic planning report starting at £12.00 inc VAT which will show you what planning applications have been received. To a more comprehensive report which would give an opinion on the likelihood of future development on the land in question.
